Onion Creek Club – Austin, Texas

Onion Creek Club is Austin’s most historic golf club. Founded in 1974 by three-time Masters Champion, Jimmy Demaret, and golf legend, Jimmie Connolly, Onion Creek Club has built a rich tradition of understated elegance based on quality and family values.

Jimmy Demaret’s vision chose nature as the architect of Onion Creek Club…”I simply followed the natural features of the land.” In 1996, Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore, beautifully blended nine new holes with Demaret’s original design, creating a legendary 27-hole golf course; the best that Texas has to offer!

The Club’s full range of sports, fitness, dining and social activities caters to every member of the family. Onion Creek Club truly embodies the philosophy of its founder, Jimmy Demaret: friendliness, camaraderie, and good fun. There is no other golf club in the Austin area that provides the history steeped in tradition and quality, the convenience to downtown and surrounding neighborhoods, and most importantly, the opportunity to make new friends and have fun!

Onion Creek is known mainly for being the “Birthplace of the Senior PGA Tour” hosting the first ever Senior PGA event ever in 1978. The Legends of Golf was held at Onion Creek from 1978-1989. Professional Golf reappeared in Austin at Onion Creek Club hosting The Harvey Pennick Invitation, an LPGA Tour Event from 1999-2001.
